As I sit here, making lists, packing bags, and feeling the familiar surge of excitement that comes with planning a vacation, I can't help but pause and reflect on all the adventures I've had over the years. This upcoming trip is not just about the destination; it's about the memories I'll make along the way and the people I'll share them with.
Thinking back, some of my fondest memories are of the adventures I've had with Real Life Annie and Cody. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a weekend getaway, or a long-planned vacation, our adventures were always filled with laughter, excitement, and a sense of freedom.
I remember a road trip along the West Coast, where we drove from California to Oregon, stopping at quirky roadside attraction along the way. From the giant redwoods to the rugged coastline, we experienced the beauty of nature in all its glory. And then there was that unforgettable camping trip in the Upper Peninsula, where told ghost stories around the campfire and watching shooting stars streak across the sky.
But as I reminisce about these adventures, I can't help but feel a pang of sadness thinking about the people who are no longer here to share them with me. Julie, my forever baby, was taken from me far too soon. Although she never got the chance to go on adventures, I often imagine the mischief she would have gotten into and the laughter she would have brought to our trips.
And then there's my mom and dad, who took me on countless family vacations when I was a child. From camping trips in the woods to road trips across country, they showed me the beauty of the world and instilled in me a love of travel that has stayed with me to this day.
As I pack my bags and prepare for this new adventure, I can't help but feel grateful for the memories I've made and the people who have been a part of them. And while they may no longer be here with me, their spirit lives on in every new adventure I embark on. So here's to new experiences, new memories, and the people who make them all the more special.
